This Week In Roleplaying – February 13th, 2015

February 13, 2015 By Samuel Van Der Wall 1 Comment

Here are links for pen and paper roleplaying games, board games, card games, and everything that goes with these games that we found interesting on the week of February 13th, 2015.

Fairy tales are more than true; not because they tell us that dragons exist, but because they tell us that dragons can be beaten. G.K. Chesterton

– D&D 5th Edition Character Sheet (EN World) There are a million character sheets out there for roleplaying games. I recently discovered this form-fillable and calculated character sheet on EN World by morepurplemorebetter. It really suited my requirements for a character sheet well. Its highly rated and has been downloaded quite a bit already.

– 28 Ways To Appreciate Your Dungeon Master (Wizards of the Coast) It is Dungeon Master Appreciation Month. Here are some ideas on how to show appreciation to the Dungeon Master, or Game Master, in your lifeFYI, #29 is give them money.

– Modiphius Entertainment Announces Conan RPG (Modiphius) Modiphius Entertainment announces the definitive sword & sorcery roleplaying game, Robert E. Howards Conan – Adventure In an Age Undreamed Of, planned for launch August 2015.

– A New Year, A New World Roundup (Enderra) I missed the January RPG Blog Carnival entry, partially I think because it was listed as being hosted on a different website early on. It was a good topic though and brought in quite a bit of entries even with the slow start.

– How and Where I Write February RPG Blog Carnival (Leicesters Ramble) Definitely an interesting topic for this months topic on the RPG Blog Carnival. I am thoroughly curious to see the process that other RPG bloggers and writers use. Please, seriously consider entering a topic submission this month!

About Samuel Van Der Wall

Sam has been roleplaying since he first encountered Battletech 1st Edition. It was initially the tactical play that drew him in, but eventually he expanded into the roleplaying game portion and it was a done deal from there. His favorite game is Shadowrun, but hes also a huge fan of Dungeons & Dragons, Dungeon World, Numenera, Star Wars, Warhammer, and many other roleplaying games. Hes a huge fan of Fantasy Flight Games and numerous other gaming companies and publishers. He prefers playing over game mastering. He likes creating one character, building on that character, integrating it into the story, and seeing how it develops over a campaign. Hes not afraid of character death because its often memorable and builds the story! If he had a specialty, it would be that hes really into helping other players draw out storylines in their own characters and further their own goals. Hes never had the privilege of attending a gaming related convention, but hopes to attend two next year.

Looking forward to seeing the Conan RPG. I’d like to play a good sword & sorcery game at some point.
