This Week In Roleplaying December 26th, 2014

December 26, 2014 By Samuel Van Der Wall Leave a Comment

Here are links for pen and paper roleplaying games, board games, card games, and everything that goes with these games that we found interesting on the week of December 26th, 2014.

Here are five links for the holidays! Be safe, celebrate, and game responsibly.

2014 X-Mas Surprise Package (Palladium Books) I used to be a huge Palladium Books player. I haven’t played many of their games in recent days, but there were several years straight that I purchased their X-Mas Surprise Package. It’s kind of a grab bag where you get to ask for stuff and have things signed. Every time I ordered I was not disappointed. I always got at least two things that I asked for and pretty much all of it was signed by an author or artist. If you like Palladium Books, you should give this package a shot.

Three Sinister Santas For Your Holiday Gaming (Gnome Stew) Just like it says, three sinister Santas for your holidays gaming. Bring a little holiday gloom and doom into your gaming with the evil man in red!

Game Empire: Land of a Thousand Games I am spending Christmas in San Diego. I don’t live here, but I vacation here quite often. Whenever I come down, I always drop by Game Empire and check out what is going on. They are a pretty cool game store and if you’re ever in the San Diego area, you should check it out.

History of Post-Apocalyptic RPGs (Part 5: 1994-1996) (Age of Ravens) Part five of a multi-part series, Age of Ravens discusses the history of post-apocalyptic RPGs from 1976 and moving up to the present. This entry is the most recent, but I encourage you to start from the beginning if you love this genre. It is an absolutely fascinating and in-depth look at the genre.

With A Twist RPG Blog Carnival December 2014 (Campaign Mastery) This month the RPG Blog Carnival moves to Mike Bourkes Campaign Mastery. This months topic is With A Twist. Anything that has to do with surprises, tricks, twists, or the unexpected is fair game. There is less than one week left to write an entry for this month’s topic.

We browse many roleplaying websites, articles, and social media connections each week. If youd like to be listed on here, please contact use via our Contact page!

About Samuel Van Der Wall

Sam has been roleplaying since he first encountered Battletech 1st Edition. It was initially the tactical play that drew him in, but eventually he expanded into the roleplaying game portion and it was a done deal from there. His favorite game is Shadowrun, but hes also a huge fan of Dungeons & Dragons, Dungeon World, Numenera, Star Wars, Warhammer, and many other roleplaying games. Hes a huge fan of Fantasy Flight Games and numerous other gaming companies and publishers. He prefers playing over game mastering. He likes creating one character, building on that character, integrating it into the story, and seeing how it develops over a campaign. Hes not afraid of character death because its often memorable and builds the story! If he had a specialty, it would be that hes really into helping other players draw out storylines in their own characters and further their own goals. Hes never had the privilege of attending a gaming related convention, but hopes to attend two next year.
